Prior to putting together the presentation for class on teacher stress and well-being, I recognized the need for a foundation on stress first. Truly defining where stress comes from helps the reader see teacher stress a lot more vivid. That concept of uncertainty and importance wraps up teacher stress so well. Stress comes about when there is uncertainty about an outcome marked with high importance.
If I can redo the presentation, I would include a lot more social media input on this issue.
It is just a bit hard for me to get into the social media world because I do not have much of a background to it and at one point, highly opposed to it. I just saw so many people, especially children, suffer from social media and it turned me off completely. I took down my Facebook and everything! I guess this social media stuff just hits a soft spot for me so it takes a while to open it back up and especially back into my career.
However, I do recognize its importance due to its immense growth and popularity.
Social media has the ability to pick up any idea or person from the ground straight up to the top of the world. Regardless of what the newspapers, government, and television has headlining, social media (hashtags) declares what is important and what is not. I would like to see myself use it to raise awareness, promote, connect with people that I normally would not be able to in person, and create a tight-knit community.
